Media Companies
Most of the Egyptian media companies belong to private owners. There are only four state-owned companies (Nile Radio Company, Akhbar Al Youm, Dar El Tahrir for Printing and Publishing, Al Ahram Establishment) and two public authorities managing and directly owning some of the media outlets (National Media Authority and National Press Authority). However, 10 out of 18 privately-owned companies have links to the state (Cleopatra Media, ), the General Intelligence (The Egyptian Media Group, Future Group Holding, The Egyptian Company for Press, Publication and Advertising, Future Company for Publishing, Circulation and Press) and to the Military Intelligence (Home Media Company). At least three were subjected to interference from the General Intelligence (D Media for Media Production, Home Media Company, Al Dostor for Press, Publishing and Distribution). One has announced that it will partner with a state’s entity without naming it (Dream Media Company) and one gets it broadcast wave from the state (Nile Radio Productions).
